“Living Chandelier” for Anisha Gwynn & Kennard Jones’s Wedding

Living Chandelier by Concepts Event Design

When you are designing a wedding for Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn’s daughter, you know you have to hit it out of the park. Fiance Kennard Jones has appeared on the Padres roster just like his father-in-law. Both being outfielders, there was no question that America’s favorite pastime would be a prominent theme in the outdoor décor.

Anisha Gwynn tipped her veil to the baseball diamond by wearing $1.35 million worth of every girl’s best friend. When Embelishmint contacted Federico Alderete to create the chandelier, he was inspired to include the reflective gems that would de displayed at the opulent Gwynn private estate. Concepts Event Design created the five and a half foot wide “Living Chandelier” to be a focal point  floating above the bride and groom on an elevated stage in the center of more than 280 guests. The piece included 2,000 yellow roses from Embellishmint and Alderete’s crystals. Throughout the event Concepts Event Design showcased custom linens and pillows designed to Anisha’s request.

The exquisite details of this wedding caught the eyes of WeTV’s Platinum Weddings producers. The crew spent more than a week in the Poway area capturing all the behind the scenes details that go into a nine-inning wedding. The “ball-shaped” yellow roses were replicated throughout the tented ceremony and the baseball-glove-shaped cake was the envy of any outfielder. The cocktail hour food was also baseball inspired, albeit noshing that are only available in the box seats. Kobe beef sliders and petite French fries made with truffle oil made guests “batter-up” for seconds.

The wedding will begin airing this month and both Haydee and Federico Alderete thank the Gwynn family and all the talented wedding professionals who helped create a World Series Wedding. Congratulations to Anisha and Kennard, who will celebrate their one-year anniversary watching the premiere on Sunday, January 31.
